Written and performed by David Henry Sterry, this one-man show is based on his bestselling San Francisco Chronicle memoir, Chicken: Self-Portrait of a Young Man. Sterry started out as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco perfoming with everyone from Robin Williams to Milton Berle and as an actor has worked with everyone from Will Smith to Michael Caine, David Letterman to Zippy the Chimp.

Chicken – The True Story of a Teenage Gigolo was rated as Number One play in Great Britain by The Independent during it’s appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2003. It tells the true story of a 17-year-old ‘All–American’ boy who gets seduced into the sex business. To a background of 70s music, Sterry portrays everyone from his nun and teacher to his pimp and his girlfriend to the man who took advantage of him and the love-hungry ladies who rented his services. Poignant yet suprisingly funny, this raw theatrical work was described as ‘Sextacular!’ by the New York Post and ‘Provactive and highly engaging… Simply unmissable’ by The Herald (UK). Note that it is being performed at different venues during the course of it’s run (the last two dates are in The Hague).
