The daughter of João Gilberto – the man often credited with the invention of the bossa nova – Bebel Gilberto first took to the stage at the Carnegie Hall with her mother (the singer Miúcha) and the legendary Stan Getz when she was just nine years old. Coming of age with collaborations with the likes of David Byrne and The Thievery Corporation, Bebel is undoubtedly the premiere purveyor of contemporary Brazilian music. Expect a dreamy, smooth blend of bossa nova and electronics.
