Around 200 documentaries gathered from around the world are crammed into intense daily schedules of screenings for the annual IDFA (International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam). Organised into themed programmes, entries also compete for a handful of awards including the democratic Audience Award and prestigious Joris Ivens Award. And, as usual, complementing the film screenings there are also a number of lectures, debates, exhibitions, forums and parties.

The event takes place at several locations around the Leidseplein: Pathé City, Bellevue Cinerama, Paradiso, Stadsschouwburg, Theater Cosmic. Festival centre is De Balie. For more info and the complete programme see www.idfa.nl
