Footsteps of Elvis

27 August-18 September 2005
Beurs van Berlage
The largest international Elvis exhibition ever organised outside of Graceland includes a wealth of Presley's personal belongings, plus unique photographs taken by Lew Allen of the King and his contemporaries...
Lew Allen was just a 17-year-old magazine photographer when he met Elvis at a concert in Cleveland, Ohio. The newspapers in the city were on strike so Allen was the only photographer there and, as a result, got some historic photographs of Elvis. These will be on display – in the Birth of Rock exhibition – alongside photos of other stars he went on to shoot, including Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Frankie Avalon and Paul Anka.
